STAGE REQUIREMENTS
This is a rough plan of a small stage layout required. An ideal size for a 5 piece band is 18' wide by 12' deep - larger is preferred but we will be perfectly happy with this size as long as we are performing as a 5 piece band. To a certain extent a deeper stage will compensate for less width.
Remember, it may be necessary to also stand the main PA speakers (not shown) on the stage which will take more space than this diagram shows.
A raised stage is always preferable both from performance and safety perspectives. Tipsy revellers falling into stage equipment is not to be desired! Once again however, this is NOT essential.
Whatever type of entertainment you book, take your live performers seriously and do not try to squeeze any act into a space that is not big enough! There must always be enough room to run cables tidily out of the way and for performers to move around. Apart from anything else, a small stage leads to a static performance - and that's not in anyone's interest!

If the electricity supply resembles this - we might have a problem! Generally tho' regular sized events don't require any special supply. The biggest demand on your electrical supply is likely to be lighting and for most events we use a simple lighting set up which amounts to around 1200 watts - less than your average domestic iron. We have deliberately reduced bulb size to avoid circuit board tripping! A normal domestic 240v supply should be fine if it offers a number of sockets although it is always useful to run the lighting on a separate mains ring fro the amps if possible.
However, for larger events, a much bigger lighting rig is required and it is essential that your venue is equipped for this. Please speak to us about requirements - if it helps we can talk directly with your venue / marquee company.
In the event of problems, it is worth checking whether your caterers are boiling several event sized kettles as these will likely tip the balance!
An offer of food and drink always goes down well - particularly in those rural, 'Marquee in the Garden' type events where shops might be some distance away. Of course, we would never decline a reserved table at the banquet - but sandwiches will do just fine!
