Do you have dance-floor lighting in addition to stage lighting?

Our standard practice is to turn two sets of stage lights onto the dance-floor during the disco. We can supply additional, dedicated floor lighting as required at hire cost price, typically £30-£80 depending on requirements

Do you supply a disco when not playing?

Yes. We have Apple powerbook based Disco (DJay) software and a huge collection of songs from all era's. We are generally around to help the flow of music and can supply a dedicated DJ if required. You should be aware that this is far superior to commonly used ipod playlists as music can be changed seamlessly.

How much do you charge?

Whilst not trying to be evasive, there are a number of variables such as: travel factors, set up and finish times, size of band, length of performance, Is PA system provided and so on. As a guide, we typically charge £995 for local (East Kent) events which are roughly within standard times e.g. approx 6pm set up and c. midnight finish.

We are happy to discuss lower rates for Charity Events, Last Minute Bookings, Later set up / Earlier finish, Off-Season and Public Events

How long do you take to set up?

A normal set up takes about 90 minutes from start to finish including unloading, set up, sound-check, cables tidied and cases put away. Larger venues requiring all instruments to go through a larger PA and more complex lighting will take longer. Ideally, guests should be elsewhere during set up.

Do you have a dress code

It really depends what you want. For weddings we are usually formal with a splash of colour. Balls usually black tie. Birthday parties and fun events - anything from smart/casual to colourful and fun

Can we see you live before confirming a booking?

Yes - we only do occasional live gigs but we can do a mini-showcase on one of our rehearsal evenings. Please let us know if you would like to attend one of these

Our venue has a noise limiter, is this a problem?

Possibly. Unfortunately noise limiters are NOT an exact science and vary widely between venues. It is essential that you choose a venue with no limiter or one that is known to be not over-sensitive. We can adapt but it is easy to 'lose the groove' when trying to play extra-quietly. We would be happy to check directly with your proposed venue in this respect

Do you have a formal booking contract?

Yes, we have a detailed but easy to read contract. We encourage prospective clients to read a draft copy at an early stage

What sort of PA equipment do you have?

We use premium HK Audio kit appropriate for the venue size. For small to medium events, particularly weddings - our system is compact and unobtrusive

How much lighting do you have?

For small to medium sized functions we use two side mounted flood units and 4 floor mounted spots. For larger functions we increase this accordingly

How big is the band?

Our standard line-up is 5 piece (Drums, Bass, Guitar, Keyboards (+ Male Vocals) & Female Singer). This can be extended to include a 2/3 piece brass section, an additional keyboard player or an additional vocalist.

What is the ratio of male to female vocals?

Normally female vocals account for about 80% of the set with some additional songs being duets. Cat and Sophie are dedicated singers who don't play instruments live. Consequently, it makes sense for them to do the majority of the lead vocals

You have 2 singers - can we choose our preferred singer for the evening?

Yes, subject to availability. If given good notice this is rarely a problem

Do you have Public Liability cover?

Yes. We are covered up to £2m. Certificate is available for inspection any time but please request in advance if you need it as we don't carry it with us (same applies to PAT test certificate)

Is your equipment PAT tested?

What precautions do you take to cover adverse events that could lead to cancellation?

No entertainers can offer a 100% guarantee. However, we do a number of things including:

-All band members must have vehicle recovery with ongoing travel & home-start in place
-We rotate musicians and singers to minimise the need for using last minute dep's who are unfamiliar with our set
-The keyboards have their own PA system which can be utilised for the whole band in the event of main PA failure
-We have spares for all cabling, guitar strings, drum skins etc etc
-The disco playlists are duplicated onto both ipod and iphone as backup
-We have a small network of other recommended bands who may be able to step in
-If the worst happens and the full band cannot perform, we should still have the disco option

What about electrical power?

Fortunately, due to the advances in low powered LED lighting, this is less of an issue than it used to be. Ideally 2 separate 13 amp mains rings should be supplied - particularly if bigger scale lighting is required. Most small to medium functions will do fine on just one mains ring. The more sockets the better

How much space do you need?

Depends on band size and angle of performance. For starters, the basic 5 piece line up should have an area approx 15' wide x 12' deep. A brass section, extra keyboard or backing singers will require more space
